Premier Steel Awarded 2024 Innovative Bridge Project of the Year

Premier Steel Services has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Innovative Bridge Project of the Year at the 2024 World Bridge Engineering Conference, held December 11-13 in Miami, Florida. The conference, hosted by Florida International University in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and 33 State Departments of Transportation, gathered industry leaders to share the latest advancements in accelerated bridge construction and engineering.

The award recognizes Premier Steel Services’ work on the Old Morris Highway Emergency Bridge Replacement Project in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. This innovative project was critical in restoring transportation and access after flood damage washed out a multi-culvert structure..

The flood damage resulted in the loss of a key infrastructure asset. The Muscogee Nation provided funding for the repair and replacement of the bridge within the Reservation boundaries. To meet the urgent need for a rapid solution, the Muscogee Nation selected Premier Steel Services to supply their patented Fast Cast Bridge®system, which enabled an efficient and quick installation process.

This project is one of over 35 Fast Cast Bridge® projects installed across the country. The groundbreaking technology received a United States Patent in 2022.

“This project highlights Premier Steel Services’ continued leadership in developing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective bridge solutions that are setting new standards for the industry,” said  Andy Vanaman, president of Premier Steel. “The 2024 World Bridge Engineering Conference provided an important platform for sharing such groundbreaking projects and insights, and Premier Steel Services is proud to be recognized for their contributions to innovative and accelerated bridge construction.”
